Well its all done.We have given notice of our intention to marry!
We got wet going in as the heavens decided to open as we were walking from the car.
I went in first and the registrar just asked to see my documents and then asked my name my age my address, my fathers ocupation and if he was still alive. The she asked me Daniel's full name and job and if his address was the same as mine. The date time and place of our wedding... and i think thats about it then i went out and sent Daniel in and he got the same as me. Then we went in together and she told us our notices will be up on the notice board for 16 days so that if anyone wants to object they can. Then on the 29th of july we can go in and get our certificates of intention to marry and then they need to be sent to the ipswich registrar to be ready for our wedding day!

Flowers flowers everywhere

Haven't been on again for a while as I've been busy working. But just wanted to share with you all how far we've got. Next Monday we are going to give notice and now we have moved we have to give notice in the district where we live as we are marrying in a different one. So we've got that booked. My passport had expired so I had to phone the borough in London where I was born to get a full birth certificate as I only had what they call a short one. that was about 15 quid I think and it arrived the very next day so that was bloomin' good!
Now h2b had realised his is out of date and he phoned his mum and discovered he has the right birth certificate but its been through the wash!!!!???? so he's gonna have to check with them if that's acceptable as you can still just about read it. if not get a new one sorted asap!
I have discovered our printer works on vellum which is brillo as I had some gorgeous vellum paper to use for our confetti cones and they have a little something printed on them. So I've bought some more lovely coloured vellums and they are ready to be printed out, although I haven't got much further on making the confetti to go in them yet though lol
I've bought card to make my table plan, but cant get on with that until we know for sure how are tables are going to be so we need to talk to venue about that. I decided on my flowers and got those (artificial) and got my memory charms to attach to that now. Bm's flowers will be done soon too.
Trying to get h2b excited enough to decide on a videographer so we can get deposit paid and booked.
Got a bargain flower girl dress for £4.70 from ebay!
I still have some triangles left from my bunting ran out of bias binding and now ive got that i have to wait for h2b's grandmothers sewing machine back again before i can finish the rest off.
Also just ordered the favour scrolls to go on the table and trying to find some nice flowers to fill the birdcages and figure out a way to attach some small butterflies to the cages as they havent got any wire on them...
I think thats about it really. Must book some time off so i can get some more stuff done!

We have lift off!

The first wedding thing has been done since we moved. I have managed to get the bridal car booking form and deposit sent off. Its a vintage car to go with the vintage theme. A white 1937 Rolls Royce Landaurette. Now we have hit the "year to go" mark it has just hit me how much there is to do.
Yesterday was such a sunny day so we went out in the evening delivering our save the date fridge magnets, the address for our site is on them so now to make sure all the info so far is correct!

How Crafty!

What a crafty girl I have been lately. Not only have I finished my veil and started on the home made confetti and confetti cones but I have also just received my pinking shears and a a couple of the pieces of fabric I ordered from ebay. So I have made a template for bunting and made a start on that!

Wedding Fair Surprise
A sunday wedding fair at Wherstead park was the order of the day. A very miserable rainy day and we did toy with whether to stay at home but there were some wedding video companies i wanted to know more about.
We saw our venue had a stand there and there were quite a few others, lots of lovely cakes and dresses and flowers. It wasn't too busy which was good as I start getting a bit cluastrophobic when its really packed. There was a Mr Whippy style ice cream stand where dishing out ice cream and to the side of it you could put your own sprinkles and sauce on. I had chocolate buttons, mint aero pieces and bits of fudge. I was gutted coz i totally forgot about the syrup! lol
Daniel took a big shine to this and he has decided he wants it for our wedding! It would be quite cool i guess as we are having fish and chips then we can follow it with ice cream like being on the seaside... we are right on the waterfront after all haha.

It's Getting Better
Unfortunately it's only getting better in the wedding side of things. We lost Granddad last week so that's been hard to deal with. Although before all that happened I did manage to get my birdcage veil finished (at least I think it's finished, unless I decide to put any more feathers on it)
Also the best thing is.... OUR VENUE IS BOOKED!! I'm so pleased! I love Isaacs and the ceremony room is lovely. I just cant wait now.
Another thing that is on the done list is save the dates and invitations. We got magnetic save the dates so people can put them on their fridge.
I have also decided to make some confetti cones for the throwing confetti which i will also be doing myself! I have got some environmentally friendly tissue paper and a heart shaped hole punch so that's my next project!

Getting there...
Haven't written for a while. Have been trying to sort out some little bits and pieces for Valentines day for Daniel. Iv'e got some red heart confetti and some tea light candles so im going to make the table up all nice. dont know what to cook yet tho so got some thinking to do.
We went to Isaacs on saturday to try the fish and chips. Was a cold but lovely sunny day. Wish I had taken my camera, it was a great day to take some good pictures.
I was very surprised when mum said she was going to pay the deposit for us!!! So hopefully we will have our venue booked in the next few weeks!!! Oh I hope so. I really love that place.
I have come to a bit of a standstill with my birdcage veil as im waiting for some extra bits to finish it off, I got one lot of white feathers and they turned up all mangled up, which i was not to happy about but i did get a replacement lot. I have got a really lovely, if not a little bigger than expected, vintage brooch to attach to the top. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product i just hope I don't mess it up!

A Busy Day And A Dream Venue.

Well that's another weekend over. Saturday was a busy day, visiting three venues and fitting in lunch and a tasty hot chocolate!
First was a holiday inn. It was very nice as a hotel but the function and ceremony room let it down a bit I felt. Second was Isaacs which we were both looking forward to, it was a miserable and cold day and we'd gotten there early so we went in to warm up with a nice hot chocolate and cream, yum.
It was lovely and warm so we sat down and Daniel was reading the paper, I was checking facebook. I was miles away when I heard Daniel trying get my attention. Tanya, the wedding coordinator was ready for us. We took our drinks up and we followed her through to the ceremony room. There was trailing Ivy wrapped round the Tudor beams and the lighting just made it look so lovely. Nice and fresh yet romantic and intimate.
Anyway Tanya made us feel really comfortable she wasn't snooty or too serious. The whole thing just felt so "us". I received the proposal today and now all we need to do is get the deposit together and hope it's in time before anyone else makes a booking for that day. All I've done is day dream about it. I would be so happy if we could get married there.
On the more creative side, today I have made a start on my bird cage veil today, didn't get too far though as I ran out of white thread. I forgot I left the last lot I had, at the nursery before I left. I will have to see if I can get some more and maybe some more feathers or something to cover up the base.

Snow Day
It snowed today so I was planning to spend it on wedding planning stuff, but I got side tracked taking pictures on a walk and making a snowman!
I have however ordered the sinimay base for me to make my birdcage veil. I'm currently bidding on a vintage brooch on ebay just to finish it off aswell. I will use it as decoration i think. I have a picture in my head of how I want it to look but I guess we shall see how it turns out. Something similar to the picture.
I have also arranged an appointment to go and look at a venue on Saturday the 16th of January. It's at the Holiday Inn Ipswich Orwell. The brochure they sent me was lovely so we are going to see what it's like in the flesh so to speak. Hoping it's nice as the last one which was also the first venue we have looked at wasn't that pleasant really, so looking forward to seeing this one.
